The Historic Brown Hotel

Enjoy your 4-night stay at the incredible Brown Hotel.  The Brown Hotel, named “One of the Best 500 Hotels in the World” by Travel and Leisure Magazine and “Top 10 Hotels in the South” by Condé Nast. Restored to her classic, English Renaissance grandeur, The Brown Hotel has been one of Louisville’s most treasured landmark luxury hotels since 1923, with genteel Southern charm and the ornate splendor that made her famous.  Southern Living Magazine notes “I love a grand hotel.  I adore sweeping into a lavish lobby that looks as though it came straight from a 1930’s movie set.  Few places offer such sparkling accommodations.”  Located in the heart of downtown, this historic property boasts the timeless allure of yesteryear with all the modern-edged amenities one would expect from a Four-Diamond hotel.

The Brown's guest rooms are among the most spacious in the city. Their guest rooms are elegantly appointed and showcase a King, Queen or two Double Beds with a plush mattress, and Egyptian cotton linens. All rooms feature an executive desk and chair, three telephones, a flat screen television, individual coffee maker, refrigerator, in-room safe, iron and ironing board.  In addition, all bathrooms are complimented with Spanish, hand polished, Ramora marble floors, new granite top wooden vanities, lighted make up mirror and hair dryer.

In addition to special amenities like flat screen televisions, complimentary bottled water, suit valets and terry cloth robes in each guest room, a dedicated concierge is available mornings and evenings to answer questions, make dinner reservations, and assist you with any details to make your stay more enjoyable.

Enjoy a Bourbon & Chocolate Welcome at the Brown Hotel!  This welcome reception will feature tasting pours of Buffalo Trace, Maker’s Mark and Chocolate Bourbon Balls!

Then, the Welcome to Louisville Hot Brown Dinner is included at the Brown Hotel as well!  Dinner will include a KentuckyField GreenSalad, Hot Brown - A World Famous Louisville Tradition since 1926 (roasted turkey breast, toast points, mornay sauce, pecorino romano cheese, applewood smoked bacon and tomatoes), and an amazing dessert that is a spectacle to the eye as well as a delicious way to end your meal.

Louisville, KY - Lots to Do

There is no experience quite like a Backstretch Breakfast at Churchill Downs.  You will get a behind the scenes view of Thoroughbred racing at the “World’s Most Legendary Racetrack.”  Enjoy breakfast, see the horses training rail side, catch them during a bath and learn about life at the track.  Next, enjoy the fun and excitement as you visit the Kentucky Derby Museum.  Experience the most dynamic and unique celebration known worldwide as the “Greatest Two Minutes in Sports.”  Get an up close and personal view of the event that has WOW-ed the world for over 143 years.  We’ll take a guided tour through the factory where Louisville Slugger bats are crafted with the same pride that started in 1884.  Everyone even receives a miniature Louisville Slugger bat to take home.  Then you’ll have some free time to explore the Museum which celebrates the extraordinary role Louisville Slugger baseball bats have played in the sport’s past, present and future.  There is sure something about Mary that you’ll enjoy.  The Mary M. Miller was named after Louisvillian Mary Millicent Miller, who happened to be the first women to ever attain her steamboat captain’s license way back in 1994.  You’ll sure enjoy this evening’s relaxing dinner cruise aboard the Mary M. Miller Boat.  Watch candy being made on century-old equipment and enjoy browsing amidst thousands of pieces of American candy memorabilia at Schimpff’s Confectionery.  See the artists flame-working, sculpting, casting or blowing glass on a guided tour of the Flame Run & Mark Payton Glass Center at Glassworks.  Next, enjoy dinner and the performance of the smash-hit Broadway musical, Newsie’s, filled with one heart-pounding, high-energy dance number after another!  Adapted from the Disney film, this rousing tale is based on the true story about new YorkCity’s newsboys striking against unfair working conditions.  We’ll also visit the Speed Art Museum which has a permanent collection that spans 6,000 years of human creativity and brings art from around the world to all. As Kentucky’s largest art museum, you can see everything from Ancient art to contemporary pieces.  We’ll take a historic tram tour on an underground adventure rich in history, geology, mining, recycling, green building technology and just simple HUGEin scale at Louisville’s Mega Cavern.

Bourbon & Brandy Too

Enjoy the Evan Williams Bourbon Experience which features an artisanal distillery tours, Bourbon tastings and more.  Celebrating the legacy of Evan Williams, Kentucky’s first commercial distillery, this immersive experience brings to life the history and tradition of Kentucky’s native spirit.  We’ll experience an authentic distillery with real history at the Kentucky Peerless Distilling Company in downtown Louisville, KY.  The Kentucky Peerless Distilling Company offers behind the scenes tours for an up close look at how we craft the finest spirits, from grain to bottle - all under one roof.  The urban distillery and vast family history are sure to make this experience one you won’t forget.

Copper & Kings American Brandy and Absinthe Distillery is located in Louisville, KY.  They make a dynamic American style brandy.  They make a differentiated, uncommon, unadulterated pure pot-distilled natural American Brandy.  Distilled inAmerican copper pot-stills, matured in bourbon barrels.  Their signature house style is a little feisty and rambunctious with a long smooth finish.  We’ll learn about the company and experience the breathtaking view of the Louisville skyline from the rooftop.  Of course, we’ll have to enjoy a tasting too!
