You will also enjoy dinner at the Johnny Cash Museum as well as an exclusive, intimate performance by a Cash family member featuring classic hits and personal stories of the Man in Black from those who knew him best. Bring your camera for this personal meet and greet and photo opportunity. Lunch is included at the Bluebird Cafe and after lunch, well be joined by a successful local Nashville songwriter who will play some of the hit songs hes written and answer any questions we might have about the recording industry.
Take a tour of the NEW Patsy Cline Museum. Country music legend Patsy Cline is honored with this brand new museum from the founders of the Johnny Cash Museum. See the largest collection in the world of artifacts, both professional and personal in nature, tied to the Nashville sound singer who died far too young. Well take a guided tour of the Ryman Auditorium, a National Historic Landmark and must see for anyone visiting Nashville. Most famous as the home of the Grand Ole Opry from 1943-1974, its history as Nashvilles premier theater and central gathering place started even before construction was complete in 1892. Youll discover the divine inspiration behind the buildings construction as the Union Gospel Tabernacle in the 1880s in our welcome video. The star treatment is what Nashville does best, and the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum brings it all together. You can hear rare recordings of countrys legendary performers, see behind-the-scenes films by todays stars, along with costumes, instruments and personal treasures from country musics past and present. Next, take a guided tour of historic RCA Studio B, home of 1,000 Hits, where music legends recorded timeless songs. Youll be inspired during the group recording session directed by a sound engineer right where Elvis himself stood to record over 200 songs. We will take a tour of the Fontanel Mansion, the original estate of Barbara Mandrell. The Mansion boasts 3 stories, more than 18 rooms, 13 bathrooms, 4 fireplaces, 2 kitchens, an indoor pool and even an indoor shooting range on 136 acres. This is Nashvilles only Country Music mansion tour and will give you a hands-on immersion into the lives of Country Music greats; Barbara Mandrell, Alabama, Gretchen Wilson and more. Well tour the Storytellers Museum and the Storytellers Hideaway Farm. The Storytellers Museum is in a general store that the great Red Wortham converted into a recording studio and that Johnny Cash used as a place for local concerts. Visitors can see the historic Little Stage where the Saturday Night in Hickman County guitar pulls once took place. The Storytellers Hideaway Farm belonged to Johnny Cash for over thirty years. See the house where he lived and the land that he loved, the place he called the center of my universe. Directly in between Nashville and Memphis you will find the International Rock-A-Billy Hall of Fame and Museum. This is where music legends live forever. Relics include Carl Perkins blue suede shoes and the defibrillator that failed to revive Elvis. The Dyess Colony was created in 1934 as part of President Franklin D. Roosevelts New Deal to aid in the nations economic recovery from the Great Depression. It provided a fresh start for nearly 500 impoverished Arkansas farm families, including the family of music legend Johnny Cash. The Johnny Cash Boyhood Home is one of several historic buildings that are open to visitors and it is furnished as it appeared when the Cash family lived there.
