Day 2

Drive to Corner Brook, the largest community in Western Newfoundland. Situated along the southern shore of the Bay of Islands - hilly lowlands surrounded by the Long Range Mountains - this area was first surveyed and mapped in 1767 by renowned explorer Captain James Cook. Travel on to Gros Morne National Park – to be enjoyed later on during your tour – to the fishing community of Port au Choix to learn of ancient cultures at Port au Choix National Historic Site. off St. Anthony - Iceberg Alley. This area has the largest concentration of icebergs in Newfoundland and is one of the best locations in North America for whale watching. Next you will visit Grenfell Historic Properties. The Grenfell Historic Properties celebrates the legacy of a great man who once walked the shores of Northern Newfoundland and Labrador - Sir Wilfred Grenfell. Travel back to the Gros Morne National Park area for a two-night stay.
