Landoll’s Mohican Castle Hotel

Relax and enjoy the stately majesty of times past as we overnight at the Landoll’s Mohican Castle Hotel located in Central Ohio. If you think the name of this property sounds familiar, it was featured on Gordon Ramsey’s Hotel Hell on?Fox. Gordon helped the hotel and got them on the right track and now this property is one of the most popular accommodations and dining experiences in Ohio.

David Warther will be taking us on a guided tour of the David Warther Carvings. The carvings created by David are intricately worked of antique ivory, ebony wood and abalone pearl. Each of the 83 works (and counting) is heavily engraved through the art form known as scrimshaw. This unique art collection-museum forms an artistic and highly educational exhibit that culturally enriches all who view these extraordinary works of art. We’ll also tour the Warther Museum & Gardens where Ernest “Mooney” Warther displaying his amazing art collection of intricate carvings. Ernest Warther was a World’s Master Carver and is the grandfather of David Warther. You will be delighted by the works of Ernest and his wife Frieda. We’ll make a stop to see the World’s Largest Cuckoo?Clock standing at over 23 feet tall and 24 feet wide.

Made in America

Lehman’s Hardware Store is 32,000 square feet of shopping amazement. The store includes four pre-civil war buildings with a Buggy Barn cinema. At the heart of it all, thousands of unique products you’ll be surprised are still made and available for sale. For more than 115 years, The J.M. Smucker Company, with its trusted brands and quality products, has helped to make family meals memorable. Today, The J.M. Smucker Company Store and Café continues this proud tradition by showcasing products and merchandise from the Company's family of brands. Rubbermaid was founded as Wooster Rubber by 9 businessmen in 1920 in Wooster, Ohio. The Everything Rubbermaid store is housed in a 4-floor, historic building where you will find?everything made by Rubbermaid. Bucyrus Copper Kettle Works is the ONLY hand-hammered copper kettle factory remaining in the USA! What makes Bucyrus Copper Kettle Works truly unique is the continued tradition of handmade copper items in the same location for more than 140 years. On a guided tour of Advanced Fiber Technology (AFT) you will learn how AFT converts recycled newsprint and other paper into cellulose insulation and other products. At HSM Transportation Solutions we will take a complete and very interesting tour of their operations which makes seats for motorcoaches and school buses. At Eatmor Bundt Company we’ll start with a green tea to a black tea to the new popular white and herbal teas. Taste loose leaf world-rated teas prepared in a Russian samovar. Plus, everyone will receive their very own mini CinnaBundt Cake. On our way home we will stop at the Spangler Candy Company for a trolley tour and a visit to the museum.  The museum features historical information in a timeline fashion, along with samples of products and other artifacts from years past including Spanger Chocolate Clusters.  A video history of the company runs continuously in the museum.  Through the museum experience visitors will learn how the company grew from one man and some baking powder to the world-class hard candy company it is today.

History comes Alive

We will visit one of the most unique, and fascinating, museums you will ever see - the Famous Endings Museum. This museum is dedicated to funeral memorabilia of famous people. Funeral Director, John Herzig, began collecting funeral memorabilia in 1996. Today his collection houses over 2,500 artifacts and pieces; considered the largest known collection of its kind! John will lead you on a guided tour of his museum and will captivate the audience with stories of how he acquired many pieces in the collection. He is one of those speakers that groups cannot hear enough from! In the late 1930s, in the rolling countryside of Richland County, Louis Bromfield, Pulitzer Prize-winning author and dedicated conservationist, created his dream -- Malabar Farm. In May of 1945, Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall were married in the Big House at Malabar Farm. On the historic house tour, see where Bromfield’s famous, and not so famous, guests stayed and where Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall spent the night during their honeymoon. We’ll also take a wagon tour of the farm. Dinner is included in the Pugh Cabin on the land of Malabar Farms. The Pugh Cabin was featured in the film, Shawshank Redemption, during the opening scene. This scene featured Andy Dufresne sitting in his car, drinking, and handling a revolver the night that he caught his wife cheating on him. He is later convicted of two life sentences for the murder of his wife and her lover. The Angels In Our Lives Program and Tour at AngelWoods Hideaway Bed & Breakfast includes a dinner with generous made-from-scratch food plus homemade desserts. The “Angels In Our Lives” program offers interaction, humor and music. The home is filled with hundreds of angels from many countries and mediums. Just for fun, we are going to take in a performance at the Award-Winning, Amish Country Theatre.  Hold on to your seats and get ready for some explosive laughter.
