Scenic Adventures

Drive through the Daniel Boone National Forest which encompasses a total of 635,000 acres in Kentucky.  On a narrated tour of the Great Smoky Mountain National Park, you’ll travel the scenic mountain road around the famous “Loop” by way of the high-rising Chimney Tops. At the top of the mountain we’ll stop at Newfound Gap which marks the Tennessee, NorthCarolina State Line.  You’ll have opportunities for photos at scenic stops along the way.  At an elevation of 5,048 feet, Newfound Gap is the highest driveable pass through the Great Smoky Mountains National Park (weather permitting).  Until 1972, skiers wound their way by car slowly and precariously up and down snow-covered Mt.Harrison enroute toGatlinburg’s ski area, which opened in 1962.  Enjoy the NEW Anakeesta attraction!  Anakeesta is a Cherokee Indian word referring to high ground, literally meaning “the place of the balsams.”  Today, the word is most often associated with a massive rock layer known as the Anakeesta Formation that encompasses many of the peaks in the Smoky Mountains.  You can see it high above Gatllinburg in Charlies Bunion, Chimney Tops and Mount Kephart.  Anakeesta is located on 70 acres of pristine forested land.  Anakeesta’s Chondola ride will take you to the elevated 16-bridge Tree Canopy Walk, Memorial Forest Walk,Vista Gardens Walk, and shopping opportunities.  We have included a lunch at the Clifftop Restaurant.  We’ll take a rafting trip down a section of the Pigeon River with a friendly, professional river guide.  The scenery surrounding the upper and lower sections of the Pigeon River are just as breathtaking as the river itself. Skirted by the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Cherokee National Forest, Martha Sundquist State Forest and the Appalachian Trail, the Pigeon has carved its rocky riverbed through some of the most dramatic country in East Tennessee.

Optional Sky Lift/Sky Bridge Experiences ($20 per person)

Take in the best views in the Smokies.  Take a SkyLift up to the SkyDeck overlooking Gatlinburg and the Great Smoky Mountains.  Great views can be seen from the SkyDeck.  But, you can also continue your journey by taking the 65 stairs up to the NEW SkyBridge, the longest pedestrian suspension bridge in North America with the most spectacular and awe-inspiring views in the Smokies!  If you would prefer to keep your feet on the ground and not do this optional tour, you will have free time to explore Gatlinburg.

Four Shows

Country Tonite launches a BRAND NEW SHOW in 2019 – which means new production numbers, new choreography, new lighting effects, new side-splitting comedy, and new costumes.  Country Tonite promises to surpass all expectations as they combine your favorite country classics with hot new country hits and hilarious country comedy in this fast paced show.   It’s the songs you know and love and comedy everyone can relate to.  Voted the Best Show of the Year!  Ahoy Matey! Have you heard the news? Dolly Parton has brought her Pirates Voyage Dinner & Show to Pigeon Forge! Get ready to enjoy a 4-course feast as you celebrate the pirate spirit at the Pirates Voyage dinner attraction.  During the show, guests will get to see the Crimson and Sapphire pirates battle on deck, in the water, and in the sky above their full-sized pirate ships in a 15-foot-deep indoor lagoon. The two pirate ships are 28 feet tall and sit in a 15-foot-deep lagoon that’s filled with 300,000 gallons of water. Visitors can expect to enjoy acrobatic competitions, special effects, live animals, and original music by Parton and Mark Brymer.  A “don’t miss” endorsement from Southern Living Magazine gives you some idea of the wonderful spectacle that awaits you at the Smoky Mountain Opry show in Pigeon Forge this year! It’s simply the BEST Variety Show in the country!  Produced with the audience in mind, the Smoky Mountain Opry “Feel The Music!” show is an entertainment experience that brings to the stage new productions and audience favorites. It’s a journey through the music of your life, from high-energy country to rock ‘n roll, big band, gospel and movie greats.  From the moment the lights dim and the music begins, you will be mesmerized in a world of showmanship and dazzling costumes with state-of-the-art technology, as a talented cast reminds you of just how good it feels to be immersed in the music and dance, to laugh out loud and stand up joyously to applaud. Enjoy the NEW Paula Deen’s Lumberjack Feud Adventure with 13 Competitive Lumberjack Events featuring the Dawson and McGraw families’ world class lumberjacks.  There is high-energy axe throwing, chopping, sawing, speed climbing, log rolling and other competitive events.  Audience members can participate in an exciting, interactive experience on stage.  The theater is a 250 seat climate controlled covered grandstand with padded seating.

Enjoy your visit to one of the newest attractions in Pigeon Forge, the Alcatraz Crime Museum.  Explore American History from a different perspective. Five unique galleries burrow deep into the studies of criminal intent, criminal profiles, the penal system, victims, crime prevention, forensic science, law enforcement and the Judiciary Branch of government. There are a total of 20 exhibit areas highlighting 5 themes:  History of American Crime, Consequences of Crime, CSI, Crime Fighting, Counterfeit & Pop Culture.  Some of the famous artifacts include JohnDillinger’s Car, Al Capone’s Rosary, The Bronco used in the O.J. Simpson chase, Al Pacino’s machine gun from Scarface, items from the Benghazi Attacks and much more!  We’ll visit Ole Smoky Distillery for a true moonshine experience. As you approach the entrance, you can detect the distinct smell of their grains cooking and fermenting.  You’ll see authentic working moonshine stills and experience the process from beginning to end.  The distillers will take the time to visit with you and answer any questions about the history and lore of moonshining inEast Tennessee.  Then, sample some of their Moonshine.  There are also seasonal and special flavors that aren’t available in stores.  And, of course, you’ll have time to buy plenty of moonshine to take home with you.  Board the interactive Titanic Museum, a ship-shaped permanent exhibition.  Everyone knows the name Titanic!  Everyone knows the Titanic hit an iceberg. Everyone knows Titanic was lost!  But there is so much more to her story. Discover the stories of the passengers and crew who sailed Titanic, as the crew and interactive galleries bring them to life.  The Titanic is more than just a museum.  Then, you will experience dining in the “Secret 1st Class Dining Room” of the Titanic located on the 3rd Deck.  You will experience dining like the 1st Class passengers on the Titanic experienced dining during this private event!
