Tantalizing Toronto

Toronto is a city built with and for the limitless imagination of the people who come here to live and those who come to visit.  You’ll have a great time on a fun and interactive

narrated introduction tour of Toronto which will take you into the heart of the City, show you the colorful history and updates on where to go, while enjoying architecture and the hidden treasures this city has to offer. You’ll see sights such as the Skydome, trendy Yorkville, Chinatown, CN Tower, St. Lawrence Market, Eaton Centre, the Fashion District, Old and New City Hall and more!  We’ll be spending two nights at the Fairmont Royal York, a four-star historic hotel located in the heart of Toronto.  Location, location, location!  It is steps away from world-class theatre, shopping, attractions, sports facilities and much more!  We’ll be dining at the 360 Restaurant at the CN Tower, the world’s tallest free-standing structure at 1,815 feet tall and is Toronto’s most recognizable celebrated icon.  Enjoy a narrated Toronto Harbor & Island Cruise.  This cruise will start at Toronto’s bustling Western Harborfront. Then across the harbor you will enter the lagoons of the Toronto Islands and get right into the heart of the islands, seeing historic Hanlan’s Point, the Island Yacht Club, and the woodlands of the Island Bird and Wildlife Sanctuary.  Keep your eyes peeled for a variety of local birds and wildlife, including beavers and deer.  Further into the islands you will see its serene park space as you cruise along Long Pond, a functioning race course.  After cruising through the heart of the island lagoons we come back into the harbour and cruise along at the perfect vantage point to take the best picture of Toronto’s skyline.  You will also hear all about Toronto’s famous buildings.  On this tour you will also dive into the Ripley’s Aquarium of Canada, Canada’s largest indoor aquarium.  Included is viewing a dive show in front of one of the state-of-the-art galleries (Ray Bay or Rainbow Reef).  You can also visit the three touch exhibits that allow you to interact with horseshoe crabs, white spotted bamboo sharks and sting rays.  Don’t forget to stop at Planet Jellies where you can learn more about the four species of jellies, beautifully exhibited in backlit tanks and color-changing displays. One last stop before we depart Toronto is at the Baps Shri Swaminarayan Mandir & Heritage Museum.  This is a one of a kind in Canada!  A unique architectural monument hand-made with 24,000 pieces of marble and stone.

Toronto is the third largest English-speaking theatre district in the world, after West End in London and Broadway in New York City.  On this tour we’ll take in one of the great live theatre productions (performance will be announced once schedule is available).  Past performances have included The King &I, Phantom of the Opera, Wicked, and Mama Mia!  We are also taking in a show at the Famous PEOPLE Players, the World Renowned Black Light Theatre.  Famous PEOPLE Players - Glow in the dark Dine & Dream Dinner Theatre.  From Broadway, to Radio City Music Hall and around the World – Famous PEOPLE Players is Where Special Happens!”  The black light performance of Famous PEOPLE Players was discovered by Liberacé, and they were his opening act in Las Vegas for 10 years. Their production of the Sorcerer’s Apprentice was part of the re-opening of Radio City Music Hall, and their success continued with two runs on Broadway and performances in China, Korea and Singapore, and throughout the United States. Their Dine & Dream Theatre in Toronto was generously sponsored by actor Paul Newman through sales of Newman’s Own products sold in Canada.  They were the first to perform at the Peace Memorial in Hiroshima during their 10 year tour of Japan. They have made television appearances on A&E Breakfast for the Arts and Bravo!, and gave a televised performance for Ronald Reagan at the Shamrock Summit. Other appearances were on television series’ 7th Heaven, Red Skelton’s Funny Faces, and their Emmy-award winning CBS Movie of the Week “Special People”, based on the founding of the company.  Diane Dupuy, the company founder, is an outstanding motivational speaker who spoke along-side former Vice President Al Gore at the Alliance for a New Humanity. With 5 honorary degrees, she was awarded the Order of Canada and the Queen’s Jubilee medal for her work in Theatre and her dedication to the integration of PEOPLE with disabilities.  This theatre is a non-profit organization which employs people with physical and intellectual disabilities who share duties in dining room management, arts administration and theatrical and visual arts performances.  All performances are magical for lots of reasons!  It is an experience you will not forget.
